Chef’s Table Dinner Series: The Stilt House – Christmas in Diaspora with Chef Anna Liezl Lee

Step into a celebration of Christmas traditions from across Southeast Asia with Private Chef Anna Liezl Lee, alongside Chefs Winnie Chen and Johanna Bonaobra, for a one-of-a-kind culinary experience inspired by the flavours, stories and traditions of Christmas in diaspora.

The Stilt House takes its inspiration from the traditional homes found throughout parts of Southeast Asia, elevated above the ground to protect against seasonal flooding. Much like these homes, this dinner is rooted in the places, people and traditions that shape our sense of belonging.

For this special Chef’s Table experience, Chef Anna brings together the Christmas traditions she has experienced and learned from Southeast Asian families, sharing her personal interpretations of beloved holiday dishes. Expect a thoughtful celebration of Filipino, Chinese, Indian and Vietnamese culinary influences, brought together with locally sourced Alberta ingredients and a distinctly personal approach to the holiday table.

This dinner is a reflection of the intersectionality of identity, culture and food, and the beautiful ways traditions evolve when shared across generations and communities.

Guests will enjoy a curated dining experience with cocktail pairings from Sarah Dharshi of Strathcona Spirits, thoughtfully complementing the flavours and stories behind the menu.
