Christmas is not confined to December.
Sometimes it begins with a surprise encounter in the middle of summer. A laugh with the Grinch. A photo with your family. A little festive chaos where you least expect it.
The Golden Ticket Campaign brings together two Edmonton traditions: the magic of the Edmonton Christmas Market and the excitement of Edmonton Oil Kings hockey.
Together, we are celebrating community, family experiences and the moments that become holiday traditions.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Find the Grinch
Watch for surprise Grinch sightings at festivals, markets, attractions and community events throughout Edmonton.
He rarely announces his plans too far in advance. You will need to keep your eyes open.
2. Find the Golden Ticket Link
When you spot the Grinch, scan the Golden Ticket QR code to access the hidden contest page.
The secret entry link may also appear:
- In an Edmonton Christmas Market social media post or Story
- Through a surprise clue released by one of our campaign partners
- As a random pop-up on the Edmonton Christmas Market website
- At another Golden Ticket campaign activation
3. Enter to Win
Complete the hidden entry form for your chance to win.
Eligible entrants may submit a maximum of one entry per person per calendar day during the Contest Period.
No purchase is necessary. Taking or posting a photograph is encouraged but is not required to enter.

Eligible participants may submit one entry per email address.
A hidden webpage cannot be guaranteed to remain secret after it is discovered. Anyone who lawfully accesses the page and meets the eligibility requirements may enter.
The contest entrant must be an Alberta resident aged 18 or older. Parents and guardians may enter for the chance to win the family prize package.
A potential winner will be selected after the contest closes. The winner will be announced by September 5th after eligibility has been verified, the skill-testing question has been answered correctly and all required documentation has been completed.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Contest begins August 1, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. Mountain Time and ends August 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time. Open to legal residents of Alberta who have reached the age of majority at the time of entry. Limit one entry per person per calendar day. One grand prize is available with an approximate retail value of $5,000 CAD. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
